No matter what you can contribute, we

welcome your involvement.

1. Join PTO.

Your membership dues help make all this possible. We’d love it if you’d come to meetings, too. But, that is up to you!

2. Join PTO and come to meetings.

One hour, once a month. When you come, you’ll help guide the PTO and how it spends money.

3. Join PTO and volunteer for a position. From president to movie night coordinator, each position serves a critical role! Start small.

4. Donate funds.

Not ready to join PTO? A one-time donation helps the PTO build the Beattie Community!

What does PTO do?
Where do PTO funds go?

PTO provides many extra resources and opportunities for the students, staff and teachers of Beattie Elementary. But, just what does this mean. What exactly does the Beattie PTO pay for? Where does you money go?

  • Although LPS provides some field trips, others are paid for by the PTO. For example, the Plum Creek Literary Festival field trip for second and third graders and the Saltdogs game for fifth graders.

  • LPS provides some computer software, but other software is available to students only because PTO pays for the subscription fees. A good example of a popular software provided by PTO is Brain Pop.

  • LPS District provides some professional development, but PTO provides extra professional development opportunities. Each year, PTO pays for 7 teachers to attend a PBIST Conference.

  • Garden and playground enhancements including the development of new vegetable beds, prairie plantings, wetland planting (which solved the flooding issues on the playground), and the playground walking track.

  • Morning walking cub which allows students to safely gather and talk while walking the playground track before school each morning.

  • Staff appreciation events such as a back-to-school lunch, meals each night of parent-teacher conferences and several more simple (but critical) events throughout the school year to thank the amazing teachers and staff at Beattie.

  • Family Events such as Fall Fun Night, Movie Night, Talent Night, Bike Rodeo, Dine-out Nights and t-shirt sales.

Welcome to Beattie PTO

The Beattie Elementary PTO is a volunteer-led non-profit dedicated to helping the students, teachers and staff of Beattie Elementary. We do this through organizing events, providing funds for extra school resources and coordinating teach appreciation celebrations.

Joining PTO is simple, the impact is great.
